Footwear for Kids
The Footwear for Kids program is a highly valued part of the IODE Ontario Community Services Program. Warm winter boots are purchased with funds donated by chapters across the province. Athletic shoes are sent in late spring and summer.
The recipients frequently tell us how grateful they are for our parcels, what an invaluable service we provide and how much they appreciate the quality of the items. Because the communities are so isolated, clothing and footwear have to be ordered from a catalogue and flown in, which is very expensive.
The commitment of IODE to helping those in need is as strong today as it was in the beginning. Many things have changed, life is very different, but there are still an enormous number of needs and it’s good to know that IODE is still there.
