A few Reasons for attending the virtual Provincial Annual Meeting
  1. ​Take a break and connect with other IODE members 
  2. Meet the Provincial Officers and Convenors
  3. Hear of all the good works we have done in our Ontario communities in 2020
  4. Learn new ideas to share with your chapter members
  5. Guest speaker Mike Stevens Founder of Artscan Circle will talk about working with Indigenous and Inuit youth in Canadian northern communities and Alaska.  Mike's mission is to teach new skills, promote self-esteem and creative self-expression.  
  6. You will take part in a Canadian Citizenship Reaffirmation ceremony.  Honorary Lieutenant Colonel Michael Scott will facilitate the reaffirmation event where you can confirm your connection with Canada.
  7. Meet the OPP Community Relations Award recipient
  8. Meet the recipient of the IODE Jean Throop Book Award
FULL Registration includes the Saturday April 24, 2021 morning and afternoon Zoom sessions. 

After the meeting you will be mailed the Registration Package that will include:
  • ​The book "Speaking of Democracy" compliments of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario’s Office
  • A custom designed IODE Ontario lapel pin
  • Your choice of either a printed 2020 Annual Report or free download from website
​Full Registration Package cost $20 at the time of registration.

Virtual meetings allow you to attend from the comfort and safety of your home – this means a much more relaxed environment.  You do not need to walk around the venue to find the meeting room or the restroom; you can sit on your couch and just enjoy the presentations, this means less stress.  You can join our online meeting from anywhere - all you need is your device and an Internet connection.  

No computer, no problem – you can call in.  We may not be able to see each other; nevertheless we can still hear each other.  There will telephone numbers with Canadian Area Codes on the email invitation to the Zoom Meeting.  ​Long Distance fees will be charged based on the rates of your telephone service provider.

  1. Rename yourself to your Annual Meeting Registered Name
  2. Use the Hand Raising icon (located in Participant’s window) in order to be recognized to speak

  4. When speaking, state Name and Chapter for the benefit of those with on the phone

​May 2019 - The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, launched an exhibition on democracy, in cooperation with the Samara Centre for Democracy.

“Speaking of Democracy” book features 28 quotations about the roots of, threats to, and promise of democracy. People quoted include Her Majesty the Queen, David Frum, George Orwell, Vandana Shiva, Jennifer Welsh, and Malala Yousafzai.

This book is ​compliments of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario’s Office.

​Chapter Resources - IODE Ontario 
To commemorate the Ontario Provincial Chapter IODE 100th anniversary, the A Century of Memorable Ontario IODE Women book was written to look back at 100 years of accomplishments and the women who helped make them happen.  In this book are women who served the country through their affiliations in the Canadian Forces.  Others distinguished themselves not only through their membership in IODE additionally through their political positions, education vocations and life-long charitable contributions. 

The women featured in this book represent a small fraction of the thousands of amazing Ontario IODE members who made a positive difference in the history of IODE and are still doing so.  ​Among the women featured in this limited edition are: Margaret Burkholder, Dianne Clarke, Sandra Connery, Kathleen Julia Craik, Lorna Dean, Kathleen Drope, Anne Jaffray Eaton, Hon.
